We spent time with Tom's parents celebrating before heading to AL to be with my family for Christmas. I enjoyed seeing the family - especially the nieces and nephews who are growing up fast.
We had the Christmas party at our house this year which included our coaching staff at MTW as well as Capture Commerce employees. We enjoyed a good meal and had a friendly competition decorating gingerbread houses. Tom and coworkers judged the houses. We've got some really creative folks!
My coworkers celebrated my birthday with me by decorating my cubicle, giving me cards, chocolate, lunch out and ice cream for dessert! They're great. Tom and I enjoyed a nice meal of fondue at Dante's Down the Hatch in Buckhead. Fun times!
Tom and I went golfing in the beautiful fall weather. I actually played a little this time! I hit a few good balls, and alot of bad ones. Practice makes perfect though!
When was the last time you went through a corn maze? Neither Tom nor I had ever been through one. It was supposed to take 30-40 minutes and we did it in 15. They give clues through out the maze to help you know which direction to turn. They had other fun things to do at the farm. They had a corn shooting "gun" - the goal being to get the corn in a bucket. They had some things children would enjoy as well as a haunted hayride and bonfire. It was a fun thing to do on an October evening.
Tom and I celebrated our second anniversary on Sept 23. We went to South Ft. Walton Beach, FL and enjoyed the beautiful weather, tennis, roller blading, swimming and great seafood.
Tom and I saw the preview of this movie recently and it's GREAT! It's produced by the same company that made "Facing the Giants". It's about a young couple who is struggling in their marriage and are considering divorce. The man's father tells him to try one thing before giving up. He challenged him to "the love dare".
It's suspenseful, humorous, emotionally powerful and is a Christian film. See the movie opening weekend - Sept 26! http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/
I spent time with Laurel and her family as Laurel delivered her first baby into the world. Everything went so smoothly. It's fun to have seen Laurel and Charles through their dating, marriage and now first child!
We took a trip to visit my brother and sister in law and family. We enjoyed being with their family and visiting their church. We also stayed at this 1895 Bed and Breakfast in downtown Birmingham. We had a great time!
We took a road trip to Chattanooga for Tom's birthday. One of the things we did is ride on a DUCW (called "duck") which is a WWII vehicle used for land and sea. We rode around town and then went into the river and enjoyed an hour long tour - taking in some of the history of Chattanooga.
Laurel is having her first baby - little Anna... something (not sure of middle name yet). She is due mid August. We had a good time celebrating with family and friends in July.
We recently walked into Talullah Gorge. It's 500 plus steps walking out of the gorge. My legs were shaking as we finally got to the bottom. We walked over the gorge on this sturdy but shaking bridge.
We enjoyed Tybee Island once again this year with our friends Laurel and Charles. This year Laurel is 7 mo prego! She's a trooper as she went on a 6 hour inshore fishing trip in the blazing sun! We caught red fish and flounder and cooked the red fish for dinner! We also stopped in Savannah on the way home and enjoyed touring some old homes.
We celebrated my high school reunion this summer in Lowndesboro, AL. It was fun to see what everyone was doing these days as well as find out about their children.
