11 months and anniversary

L. turns 11 months tomorrow. I've already ordered her birthday cake - farm animal theme since she loves the old mcdonald song. I'm enjoying making some new mommy friends and walking with them or hanging out in the park. L. can now climb steps in just a few seconds. She continues to cruise around but no walking yet. She is eating more finger foods these days. She says some syllables too. We're enjoying getting out in the cooler weather. We celebrated our 4th anniversary by going out to dinner and dancing.

Picnic

Fall is my favorite season - cooler weather and AU football. I look forward to being outdoors more with L. We spent some time outside having a picnic. The mosquitoes were pretty bad so we didn't stay out too long. Also we got a good laugh out of this one picture of L's hair. She's gotten enough hair now that she can have a funky hairdo sometimes after a nap.

In Laws 60th Anniversary

We enjoyed a weekend away in Lake Guntersville to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary. It was fun to be together as a family and reflect on all those years of marriage. L. had fun getting to know all her cousins. The weather was perfect and the view of the lake was beautiful!

10 months

Today L. is 10 months. My friend Laurel came over for a visit and brought her 2 little ones. L. loves to clap her hands and will now crawl away from us squealing as we chase her. Tom and I enjoyed an afternoon together recently while L. stayed at my in-laws. It was nice to get out together. I'm very thankful for my in-laws.

9.5 months and first sick visit at Dr.

Lela had a virus this past week. I think she got it from the church nursery. She is all better now thankfully. She continues to be full of fun in that she can communicate more now with us and we're figuring out her tickle spots.

Visit with High School Girls

I enjoyed a recent visit with girls from high school. My friend took these pictures while we enjoyed a brunch together.

AL visit and 9 month Dr. visit

I enjoyed a visit with family and friends over the weekend. Also, we went for L's 9 month appointment and she is close to the 80th percentile for weight and height. We'll now start on more foods such as dairy and meat. Looks like she is on the hunt for something good in the refrigerator.

Gina's birthday and girl on the go

We celebrated Gina's 40th birthday at a Thai restaurant last night. It was fun to visit with all my girlfriends.

Standing in Crib

Tom discovered Lela standing in her crib this morning for the first time. She was so excited. Matter of fact, she slept very little today due to her new feat. She even knew how to fall back down which I was glad to see. I hear of some babies that cry because they don't know how to get back down. I watched her while she wasn't looking and she was so thrilled with her new viewpoint. She was smiling, bouncing up and down and talking.

Crawling

Lela is officially crawling at 8.5 months. She can get around pretty well - will move from the den into the kitchen where I am. I'll have to start baby proofing everything now. She is giving up her third nap of the day it seems. She continues to be very curious about everything and every noise. She still loves to put everything in her mouth. We have fun making her laugh and smile.

Charleston

This was our second trip to Charleston. We enjoyed again hearing about the rich history. We toured 2 homes and a museum. This was our first weekend away without Lela and Tom's parents kept her. It seems Lela and Tom's parents enjoyed the weekend as well. Lela is really close to crawling - up on her hands and knees and moving forward a little bit.

8 months

L turned 8 months this week. L is showing signs of wanting to crawl - rocking on her hands/knees. I'm sure it won't be long now.

Visit with Hillary

We enjoyed our visit with Hillary - a tennis buddy of mine. Lela seems to do better and better with those she's not so familiar with. Also we had a good time celebrating father's day with Tom's family. She is really sitting well by herself now. Aunt Tammy let us borrow some of these beautiful smocked dresses.
