Tallulah Gorge

We recently walked into Talullah Gorge. It's 500 plus steps walking out of the gorge. My legs were shaking as we finally got to the bottom. We walked over the gorge on this sturdy but shaking bridge.

Savannah

Tybee Island

We enjoyed Tybee Island once again this year with our friends Laurel and Charles. This year Laurel is 7 mo prego! She's a trooper as she went on a 6 hour inshore fishing trip in the blazing sun!
We caught red fish and flounder and cooked the red fish for dinner! We also stopped in Savannah on the way home and enjoyed touring some old homes.

High School Reunion

We celebrated my high school reunion this summer in Lowndesboro, AL. It was fun to see what everyone was doing these days as well as find out about their children.

Girlfriends

I recently got together with some girls that I haven't seen in years. We had a great time catching up!

Fun times on the green

Tom enjoys golf and has recently been teaching me how to play. I surprised him with a day of golf this spring. Since i wasn't ready for the BIG green, he played and I drove. We both enjoyed the day!

Fishing at Lake Lanier

Tom and i recently invested in some fishing poles. We tried out our luck on Lake Lanier. They weren't biting that day. But we had fun anyway!

Birthday Party

We celebrated Tom's Mom's 80th birthday on April 5. The ladies in the family enjoyed a nice Southern lunch at Swan Coach House. The men enjoyed touring the Georgia Aquarium during the day. We all gathered at our house that evening where the guys grilled out and provided a great dinner for us. We enjoyed hearing stories of her childhood and what Atlanta was like during the 30's and 40's.
Her favorite dessert is coconut cake which her mom homemade for her. Here she is about to enjoy another piece of coconut cake.

Easter with the Meadows family

We enjoyed spending Easter with my family. All three of my brothers and their families were there. We took a photo of all my nieces and nephews too.

Visit Down Memory Lane

Usually when we go to visit my family in Alabama, we stop at Auburn - where we both graduated. We didn't meet at Auburn because I started at Auburn the year he left. We got a treat at Toomer's Corner (famous for their lemonade)- pictured behind us.

Anna Ruby Falls

Tom and I took a trip to North GA recently and enjoyed these beautiful falls on our hike.

Snow Skiing in NC

We had a great time snow skiing on Appalachian Mtn last weekend in NC and visiting with Tom's sister/brother in law and family. It was my first time skiing and Tom's first try at snow boarding. I stayed on the bunny slope and Tom ventured to higher slopes. It was fun. I was still getting the hang of it before we had to stop due to ice.

Christmas at the Shivers

We enjoyed spending Christmas day with Tom's family. Early in the day, I was able to meet some relatives for the first time as this was our first time spending Christmas with his side of the family. This is a picture of his brother and family and his mom and dad (all of which live close by and we get to see somewhat regularly).

Still Dancing

Tom and I continue to enjoy dancing. This was our third year to get all dressed up and enjoy some ballroom and swing dancing.

Carrelling

Tom and Melanie and I went caroling in the neighborhood this month. It was FREEZING outside but we bundled up and had a great time visiting folks in the neighborhood. We delivered homemade bread to our closest neighbors. We hope to have more neighbors carol with us next year.
This one picture is of Melanie practicing to be a caroler like the ones behind her.

Birthday Fun

I enjoyed another birthday in November. My coworkers had this yummy "bouquet" of fruit sent to me at the office. What a great idea! Some of the apples were dipped in chocolate - yummy! What a great group I work with!

War Eagle

We enjoyed watching Auburn beat Ole Miss in October. We got there early enough to watch the tradition of the eagle being set free from his cage and gliding onto the middle of the field.

First Anniversary Gift

Tom splurged and bought me this 2008 Lexus convertible for our first anniversary!

Okay...well...it actually was a perk from Barnsley Gardens. Lexus provides a few cars for people to test drive. We took it to Rome that night and enjoyed riding with the top down. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at a popular local restaurant in downtown Rome.

Visit to Berry College

There was a wedding reception taking place in the building behind us - one of the Ford buildings. We also enjoyed a tour of the Martha Berry house and grounds. It was a beautiful campus and I'd heard alot about Berry college over the past few years.

Ruins at Barnsley Gardens

These are the ruins from an 1830's Italian style house at Barnsley Gardens

Barnsley Gardens

We celebrated our one year anniversary(actual date is Sept 23) this weekend at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA (near Rome). It was beautiful and we took a tour of the place. These were the gardens in front of the ruins from an 1800's house.

Mom and Me

Mom came for a visit this weekend. We always enjoy time together.

Before and After

We had a new porch built and gave the house a "facelift" with new boards, paint, shutters and door.

Dancing anytime anywhere

We continue to enjoy dancing together...even in the middle of a square in Savannah.

Summer in Savannah

We took a tour of Savannah after leaving Tybee Island.

Beach front property

We loved our house so much at Tybee that we decided to buy it! okay...maybe not...but it was a great place!

Fun at Tybee Island

We enjoyed time with our friends Laurel and Charles in Tybee Island

Hiking in Cloudland Canyon

We enjoyed a day hike with friends at Cloudland Canyon this spring.
